In addition to his ongoing output of music for his own ensembles, Vijay Iyer has been active as a composer for contemporary chamber ensembles over the last decade.  His works have been commissioned, premiered, performed or recorded by American Composers Orchestra, International Contemporary Ensemble, Brentano String Quartet, Brooklyn Rider, Bang on a Can All-Stars, the Silk Road Ensemble, Hermes Ensemble, JACK, The Kitchen House Blend Ensemble, Imani Winds, Neil Dufallo, and Ethel.

He has forthcoming pieces in the works for Brentano, Imani Winds, So Percussion, Jeffrey Zeigler, and Jennifer Koh. Some of Vijay’s work in this format can be heard on his 2014 release for ECM, Mutations.
